Il Vero Amore | True Love

The old Florentine belief is that if you bring a padlock to the old horse hitching posts near the river and toss the key in the river, your true love will last forever.  Some also believe that if you bring a padlock to the river, true love will find you.  Sometimes, the city sends someone to break all the locks and "clear" the horse hitching posts.  Inevitably, the padlocks of True Love keep returning ... there is no stopping love!  This is the American equivalent of carving lovers names into a tree.  Such a simple, romantic gesture.
